 Our Community Leaders

 Here we highlight some other agencies and non-profits in Nappanee that contribute to the strength, health, and vibrancy of our community. Boys & Girls Club of Nappanee

Each day The Boys & Girls Club of Nappanee provides an environment of stability, consistency, and physical and emotional safety for kids age six to eighteen.  Here they build deeply powerful relationships with the youth they serve and open avenues of opportunity for young people across our community. The Boys & Girls Club provides a quality experience that assures success is within reach of every young person who enters their doors, with all members on track to graduate from high school with a plan for the future, equipped with the skills needed to have a successful life, and demonstrating good character and citizenship. Programming is available after school during the school year and during the day in the summer.

The Center - Family Christian Development

Family Christian Development Center, often referred to as 'FCDC' or 'The Center', was founded in 1996 as a rural pilot agency to bring previously absent social services to a rural community. In addition to the Food Pantry, FCDC provides regular assistance to area residents through programs that assist with medication, rent and utilities, and baby immunizations and checkups. A Baby Care Closet provides items new parents in need for the care of their newborn, and a clothing closet provides items for all ages.


Elder Haus

The Elder Haus Senior Center offers many daily and monthly activities for adults 55 and up, including bingo, table games, puzzles, crafts and various programs. The agency also takes trips to favorite restaurants two times a month, serves a very affordable lunch daily, and provides an exercise room with a treadmill, stationary bikes, health riders and a stair climber. They provide a safe and stimulating environment for seniors to socialize, learn, exercise and stay active in their golden years.

Nappanee Area Chamber of Commerce

The mission of the Nappanee Area Chamber of Commerce is to help make Nappanee an industry-leading city with innovative businesses, a great community in which to live with abundant resources, and a wonderful tourist destination where visitors can “Embrace the Pace.” The Chamber strives to create an environment in Nappanee for people to start or relocate businesses, to work, to worship, and to live in our community and to ignite passion to serve the city with heart. Be sure to check out their website for lots of resources for residents and visitors alike!

Nappanee Parks & Recreation

The Nappanee Parks & Recreation Department maintains a sports complex, nature preserve, dog park, municipal golf course, municipal pool, several playgrounds, pavilions and more throughout Nappanee. The facilities are enhanced with enriching programming for all ages, from fitness to farmers’ markets and events just for fun!


Nappanee Public Library

The Nappanee Public Library is a vibrant community center that has been offering resources for lifelong education, enetertainment and connection for over 100 years. Their robust programming schedule provides events, classes, clubs and more for Nappanee residents and visitors of all ages. The NPL facility features a large collection of print materials in its three-story building as well as a computer lab, meeting rooms, a cozy reading room, and a maker space. The building is a beautiful example of historic preservation, as well, as the original early 1900’s interior was preserved in a unique remodel in the 80’s.

Nappanee Arts Council

The Nappanee Arts Council's core purpose is to joyfully inspire every resident, visitor and passer-by through the acquisition, preservation, and presentation of visual arts stimulating the imagination of both young and older, encouraging aesthetic appreciation and community involvement, and enriching the down­town and surrounding neighborhoods. The city recently created a state-of-the-art arts center in partnership with the council. It is a working studio for all ages allowing for the creation of public art pieces while promoting educational opportunities through the teaching of art classes and private sessions.
