How it Began
Our grassroots organization has been promoting all of the ways to shop, explore and play in Nappanee for nearly twenty years.
Our beginnings are in a dedicated group of local business owners who formed a retail committee in the early 2000’s. These folks partnered in promotional campaigns and paid advertising for the shopping district and eventually evolved into the planning committee responsible for developing Nappanee’s popular “Second Saturdays” events.
In recent years, the organization took steps to expand the scope of the “Second Saturdays” mission and bring awareness to Nappanee 365 days of the year. With this fresh new perspective, enthusiastic volunteers and increased sponsorship from generous corporate sponsors, Visit Nappanee became an official 501c3 nonprofit in 2019.
Today we host monthly campaigns to bring business to our retail shops, create charity drives to benefit the community, and coordinate five festival-type events (Taste of Nappanee and Friday Fests) that celebrate all our unique corner of Small-Town America has to offer!
